Breed Against the Carnegies
As an introduction to the concepts of evolution and Social Darwinism, test your chances in a game of wealth and ability. This simulation is based on a bunch of complex algorithms and random events that affect your family members. Depending on your family's ability to generate wealth, they will succeed in coming out on top, or end up failing miserably and dying early.
1. Enter Your Details
It'll need some details for your starting character. Acceptable ranges are supplied where necessary.
3. Ponder the Results
You may have noticed, if you played around with it enough, that generally the family with the greatest ability to succeed ends up with the largest family and/or most money. There may be spikes in ability that continue through offspring (try to beat 178% - the highest I've gotten), corresponding with equal spikes in wealth. There could even be semi-random gains or losses in wealth or ability, due to life events (someone might have won the lottery, or caught malaria). An unlucky few may have ended up dead earlier than others in their generation, due to a very low ability to succeed in life (or being assassinated by a hired hitman).
Note: This program, standing at merely 250+ lines of code, may include some inaccuracies. I will not be held liable for its failure to accurately predict the future of your family, or the Carnegies'.
